Introducing councillor Leah Knott [MMC Economic Development]

Councillor Leah Knott, MMC for the City’s Department of Economic Development, brings with her years of ward-based community-based activism, serving the citizens of Johannesburg with focus and dedication.

 

She is the Ward Councillor for Ward 97, an area which includes Ruimsig, Poortview, Wilgeheuwel, Honeydew and Radiokop. Over the past year she also served on the Section 79 Development Planning Committee.

MMC Knott holds a legal qualification and prior to becoming a councillor, worked in the property development planning industry. In her leisure time she enjoys her role as a Rand Central Football Coach (under SAFA Johannesburg) and at the ETS Football Club in Ruimsig.

Under MMC Knott’s leadership, the Department of Economic Development will be driving the implementation of the City’s growth and employment strategy – with the achievement of investment and job creation as key deliverables.
