Joburg Zoo a scary affair this Howl’oween
26 October 2017
Johannesburg Zoo celebrates its annual Halloween party on Saturday, 29 October 2017, from 5pm to 9pm.
This year, a Howl’oween picnic will be enjoyed on the green lawns of the zoo.
There will be a range of spooky activities including a ghost ride, a devil’s pit where witches will be at work cooking up their cauldron in a cemetery, a walk-about in the enchanted Animal of the Amazon with close encounters with snakes, exotic spiders, pirhana and other animals.
For the faint hearted, the Zoo has organized a range of fun filled activities including a beautifully decorated Fairy Land and a photobooth area. Children will be in sweet heaven when the trick or treats go around, while stilt walkers and mime artists have them in awe. The Zoo has created a route that will lead visitors to all the decorated zones. Carved pumpkin faces, spider-web, witches and ghost decorations will characterize the Zoo pathways as it comes alive at night for this spooky affair.
Face-painters will be on hand to add colour to the kid’s faces in their night out of adventure. Visitors can bring a picnic basket and enjoy scary movies on the lawns.
Limited tickets will also be sold at the entrance and gates open at 5pm. Tickets, available from Computicket, cost for R80 for adults. Pensioners and children under 12 years pay R50 for pensioners & children under the age of 12 years.
