Longer waiting times as City experiences technical difficulties

The City of Johannesburg is currently experiencing technical system issues, which is hampering service delivery at Revenue Customer Service Centres city-wide.

 

City Spokesperson, Kgamanyane Maphologela, says that a technical task team has been established and is working around the clock in an attempt to fix the problem as soon as possible.

The City appeals to its customers to be patient and understand that our staff in the Customer Service Centres will continue to strive towards serving customers as best they can, but should expect longer waiting and service times.

Customers are advised to obtain balances on their municipal statements by dialling the Call Centre on 0860 (Joburg) 562874. Option one offers an automated balance enquiry system. When dialling, press one, then one again. Type in your nine-digit account number and wait for your balance. We advise our customers not to choose the option to hold for an operator to assist as waiting times at the call centre are longer due to the system issues.
