The makeover of Randburg parking lot almost complete
23 September 2015
Parking blues outside the offices of the Department of Home Affairs in Randburg in the City of Johannesburg’s Region B are soon to be a thing of the past.
The upgrade of the parking lot is almost complete, according to Chantal Janneker, Senior Manager: Marketing and Communications of the Johannesburg Property Company (JPC), the City’s property arm. Janneker says the parking lot’s new design has created space for 135 demarcated parking bays.
“The paving to resurface the parking area is almost 80% complete and the roof trusses, electrical piping, plastering and tiling of the guard house are in progress,” she says.
The scope of the work in progress includes the installation of a security access control point, low-maintenance landscaping as well as the repair and replacement of the fencing. The R10-million project started in July and is expected to be completed by mid-September.
“JPC would like to thank the patrons of the Randburg Home Affairs’ offices for their patience. We are nearing completion of the project and request patience as we look forward to an upgraded parking lot,” says Janneker.
The Department of Home Affairs’ offices in Randburg are on Malibongwe Drive, Ferndale.
